Canada-wide Early Learning & Child Care Agreement

Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement between the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada

The Board of Directors are pleased to share that the Vanier Co-operative Childcare Centre has enrolled in the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) System between the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada.  The City of Ottawa Children’s Services has conducted a preliminary assessment of application submission to: Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) System.  Vanier Co-operative has been deemed eligible for the enrollment as of September 16, approved for full participation with a New Contribution Agreement and reviewed and legally binding signature by the Board of Directors on October 4, 2022.

Vanier Co-operative believes that child care provides a strong foundation for early childhood development and wellbeing of children while parents work and attend classes. The childcare centre and staff are committed to providing child care services that meet the needs of young children and their families.

Participating in the CWELCC System will help Vanier Co-operative continue to provide high quality child care that is accessible, affordable, inclusive, and sustainable.  As a first step, Vanier Co-op will be reducing child care base fees by 25% as of October 1, 2022.

Phase II will unfold in January 2023 with new updates pending.

Per Diem rates are anticipated to be reduced an additional 37%.
