Vanier Co-operative Childcare Centre is a non-denominational, multi-cultural, community-based childcare centre.

40 years in the heart of Vanier – well-established in the Ottawa-East community, the licensed centre offers both toddler and preschool care year round as well as a Summer ONLY Kindergarten program to families.

As of June 30 2026, Vanier Co-operative loses its Toddler program at 260 Levis Avenue due to  Ottawa Catholic School Board, its landlord’s action to reclaimed the ten year, retro-fitted toddler program at Assumption Catholic Elementary School.

Although there will be a hiatus of toddler care for up to six months, Vanier Co-operative has secured a second location at 134 St. Paul Street whereby renovations will be underway in Fall 2026 with the aim to relocate 15 existing CWELCC toddler spaces and introduce an additional 24 CWELCC preschool spaces reflecting the growing need for access to quality childcare options for Vanier families.

For the first time, Vanier Co-operative will host two locations expanding childcare services while creating more employment opportunities to the Vanier community with the continued support of the City of Ottawa Children’s Services as Child Care Service Managers of our municipality.
